1. Our Commitment

Optima Performance Science is committed to ensuring that our platform is accessible to all users, including individuals with disabilities. We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at the AA conformance level, as published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines provide a framework for making web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive impairments.

2. Conformance Status

The Platform is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. "Partially conformant" means that some portions of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard. We are actively working to identify and remediate accessibility barriers across the Platform.

The following areas have been specifically addressed in our accessibility efforts:

  • Semantic HTML: The Platform uses semantic HTML5 elements (header, nav, main, section, article, footer) to provide meaningful document structure for assistive technologies.
  • Keyboard Navigation: All interactive elements, including navigation menus, buttons, form fields, tabs, and modal dialogs, are accessible via keyboard. Visible focus indicators are maintained for keyboard users.
  • Color Contrast: Text and interactive elements are designed to meet minimum contrast ratios of 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text, as specified by WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
  • Form Labels: All form inputs are associated with descriptive labels. Error messages are programmatically associated with their respective fields and announced to screen readers.
  • Alternative Text: Informative images include descriptive alternative text. Decorative images are marked with empty alt attributes to be ignored by assistive technologies.
  • Responsive Design: The Platform is designed to be usable across a range of screen sizes and zoom levels up to 200% without loss of content or functionality.
  • ARIA Attributes: Where native HTML semantics are insufficient, WAI-ARIA attributes are used to convey roles, states, and properties to assistive technologies.

3. Known Limitations

Despite our efforts, some areas of the Platform may have accessibility limitations. Known issues include:

  • Analytical Output Rendering: Complex analytical outputs that include formatted tables, mathematical notation, or structured data may not be fully accessible to all assistive technologies.
  • Third-Party Content: Content rendered from third-party services, including payment processing interfaces (Stripe) and authentication dialogs, is subject to the accessibility practices of those providers and may not conform to our accessibility standards.
  • PDF and Document Exports: Exported documents may not meet the same accessibility standards as the web-based Platform interface.

We are committed to addressing these limitations through ongoing development and testing.

4. Assistive Technology Compatibility

The Platform is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies:

  • Screen readers: NVDA (Windows), VoiceOver (macOS/iOS), TalkBack (Android)
  • Screen magnification software
  • Speech recognition software
  • Keyboard-only navigation

The Platform is designed to work with current versions of major browsers, including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. Accessibility features may not function optimally in older browser versions.

5. Assessment Methods

Our accessibility assessment approach includes:

  • Automated testing using accessibility scanning tools during development.
  • Manual keyboard navigation testing across all interactive workflows.
  • Screen reader testing with NVDA and VoiceOver for critical user journeys (registration, login, service execution, payment).
  • Color contrast verification using WCAG contrast ratio calculators.
  • Responsive design testing across multiple viewport sizes and zoom levels.

6. Technical Specifications

Accessibility of the Platform relies on the following technologies to work with the particular combination of web browser and any assistive technologies or plugins installed on your device:

  • HTML5
  • WAI-ARIA 1.1
  • CSS3
  • JavaScript (ECMAScript 2020+)
  • SVG

These technologies are relied upon for conformance with the accessibility standards used. The Platform requires JavaScript to be enabled for full functionality.

7. Feedback and Contact

We welcome feedback on the accessibility of the Platform. If you encounter an accessibility barrier or have suggestions for improvement, please contact us through our Contact page. When reporting an accessibility issue, please include:

  • A description of the accessibility barrier you encountered.
  • The page URL where the issue occurred.
  • The browser and assistive technology you were using.
  • Any steps needed to reproduce the issue.

We will make reasonable efforts to respond to accessibility feedback within five (5) business days and to provide an accessible alternative where feasible.

8. Enforcement and Formal Complaints

If you are not satisfied with our response to your accessibility concern, you may have the right to file a complaint with your local equality or human rights body, or with the relevant regulatory authority in your jurisdiction. In the United States, you may contact the Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division, or the relevant state attorney general's office. In the European Union, you may contact the national equality body in your member state.
